The inspiration for this large bathroom was a hotel in Soho, London, regularly stayed in by our client. The brief was to create a space that was a sanctuary, yet practical as a family bathroom.
The bathroom has been divided into distinct zones, discreetly hiding the WC and bidet behind a false wall, and inserting a window niche as a subtle design feature that doubles as useful space for placing toiletries in easy reach of the bath. This false wall also allowed for a mounted TV, a perfect position to be enjoyed while relaxing in the solid surface free standing bath. The waterfall mixer also doubled up as a handy shelf to place a glass of wine.
The double vanity and tall mirrored unit are from Laufen’s Ilbagnoalessi’s collection, however to ensure a classic feel we opted for a custom glass wash top and vessel basins from Ashton and Bentley to match the bath. Maintaining a common theme throughout, brassware was chosen from Grohe’s Allure collection, with perfectly balanced design proportions and minimalist appeal.
The choice of marble tiles gives the room the luxury hotel feel and adding in the dramatic grey marble on the TV wall gives striking contrast to the white gloss marble used in the rest of the room.
We were fortunate to complete three bathrooms in this client's house, however is fair to say this is our favourite, and the bathroom which won us the Grohe 2017 Award.
