Elegant Bathroom
The property which houses this bathroom is around 350 years old, meaning that it was essential to be sympathetic to the building’s historic features such as the timber beams and uneven walls, whilst incorporating the desire for a contemporary space. We have created a harmonious balance between modern living and classic design in this inviting space by renovating to incorporate the latest in designer products.
This included a steel bath from Roca, which has been recessed seamlessly into handmade boxing with subtle ambient lighting from three LED lights, paired with a 3 tap-hole bath mixer. The LED lights illuminate via a sensor switch to create a warm, welcoming glow. The sanitaryware used is from Laufen’s ‘Palomba’ range, depicting the designer’s use of beautiful organic curves to form a sculpted basin and matching WC.
Overall this space exudes class and style with neutral and subtle colour choices. Every inch of space has been designed to tie in with the overall classic scheme, including a soft vintage blue for one wall, a traditional style radiator and the oak shelf in the wall niche above the WC, which reflects the natural materials in the existing room. This serene design fits smoothly into the existing quirks and character of this beautiful old building.
