Dramatic Monochrome Bathroom
This unique bathroom was created through the use of some stunning, bespoke products with striking tones of dark greys and blacks to create a dramatic monochrome scheme. Dark grey tiles line the walls and floor to enclose the space and make it feel cave-like creating the look that the client was aiming for. This was emphasised by a black shower tray to the right of the room, with minimal glass panels for the walk-in shower. Accessories and brassware complement the scheme with a shower thermostat in Velvet Black from Grohe paired with a black hose to match the shower head.
These elements all draw together to create this one-of-a-kind room, none more so than the bespoke basin, which is made entirely out of Corian. It features a hidden waste, in which the water flows from the wall mounted tap down the slope. The basin is a bold feature with chunky geometric lines and bold black colour with small silver flecks, reflecting the colour of the tiles.
The use of light was a major element of this design without ceiling lights. Each light fitting was designed to highlight specific areas of the room. The basin, being such a dark and prominent feature, was highlighted by a bespoke mirror, illuminated both above and below, and LED spotlights underneath a Corian shelf below the basin provide light at floor level.
Overall this bathroom is an outlet of individuality and creativity; a way for our client to express themself and achieve the space that most suits them and their lifestyle. This room is a fabulous example of how to ‘break the mould’ within interior design.
